Deng Xiaoping's Thinking on Improving a Ruling Party's Style of Work

邓小平同志认为,加强执政党党风建设是保持和巩固党的执政地位的需要;是保持党的先锋队性质和形象的需要;是保证改革开放和现代化建设方向的需要;是端正社会风气的关键。加强执政党的党风建设既要靠教育,更要靠法律;必须建立健全监督机制;加强党的制度建设;党的各级领导干部特别是高级干部要以身作则;必须坚决查处大案要案,严厉惩治腐败分子。

Comrade Deng Xiaoping, in accordance with the new characteristics of the times and the new features and new problems of Party building, put forward a series of penetrating views on improving the Party＇ s style of work in the new period.
