CHEN Guo-fu's Study about Taoism

陈国符是我国道教学研究的建立者,与前代学者根本不同的是,他以现代科学观念与方法,继承传统的考据学之长,对道教经典集成《道藏》、道教史、重要的道教历史人物、道教实践方式之一的外丹黄白术、道教音乐等,穷毕生精力,进行了广泛系统的研究,取得了辉煌的成就,赢得了国内外同行的高度肯定。自觉运用新方法指导自己的研究,坚持不懈地以求真精神揭示道教的内涵,是他取得研究成就的根本保障。

CHEN Guo-fu is one of the most important establishers of Chinese Taoist study. His thinking was usually supported by anthropological view points. And his study has some unique points different from others of this area. He succeeded the traditional method of Taoist study and at the same time he introduced modem scientific method into Taoist studies. He had great achievements in editing Taoist texts, constructing the history of Taoism, writing bibliographies of many important Taoists, arranging Huangbai method of Taoism, studying Taoist music theory. He had performed very wide and systemic studies in this area. His great achievements were largely acceoted by many domestic and overseas scholars.
