Reinvestigation of the Pragmatic Mechanism of Irony ——Comparative Study of Irony with the Perspective of Traditional Pragmatics and Cognitive Pragmatics

传统语用学认为反语是说话人出于礼貌违反质量准则而产生的;反语是一种间接言语行为,一种“戴了面纱的”威胁面子的言语行为。认知语用学从反语的复现性视角将其与Grice的反语观做了对比,指出反语为对非说话人的思想的复现和二级解释的认知语用学理论,能较有说服力地阐释反语的本质特征和语用机制,弥补传统语用学反语观的不足。

Traditional pragmatics investigates irony from the perspective of the cooperative principle, politeness principle and speech act theory. Cognitive pragmatics put forward the irony-related cognitive pragmatic theory, which regards irony as an echo or two- degree interpretations of someone other than of the speaker, has persuasively interpreted the essence and pragmatic mechanism of irony and compensated for the inadequacies of traditional pragmatic theory of irony.
