张耒大力拓展和丰富了乐府诗的题材、内容,咏物、咏怀、咏画、摹写乐曲之作等精彩纷呈,形式、风格丰富多样,善于叙事,议论的成分也比较突出。
Zhang Lei has developed and enriched the subject and content of the poem of folk songs greatly. His poems are very splendid and varied, including describing objects, expressing feelings, describing paintings, imitating musical composition, and so on. His form and style on poem are diversified. He is also good at narration, and the discussion part of his poem is very outstanding.
