Economic Development and Democratic Politics

文章通过对西方学者塞缪尔.亨廷顿关于经济发展与民主政治关系的主要观点加以介绍、分析,结合我国民主政治发展的实际情况,认为我国经济自改革开放以来飞速的发展,取得了举世瞩目的成就,推动了我国民主政治的发展,但经济因素仅是促进民主政治发展的诸多变项中的一项,中国的民主政治发展不能急于求成,中国虽然具备了民主化的条件但还很弱小。中国的民主政治应该是结合中国实际的民主,中国民主化的前景是具有中国特色的民主政治。

The paper introduces and reviews the major points of view on the relations of economic development and democratic politics advocated by Sammual Huntington and offers the author＇s own idea on the relations between the two in the context of modem China.
