咸丰《冕宁县志》的资料主要来自于几部较早的县志及采访调查,其篇目具有突出的地域性特点。在这部县志的记载中,有关清代冕宁莫梭人的历史资料尤为重要,不仅对纳西族史和纳西族与其他民族关系史的研究具有十分重要的价值,而且对藏彝走廊南部边缘———川西南地区历史上的民族迁徙和融合的研究也具有重要价值。

Most of the data for the Annals of Mian Ning County in Xian Feng Period came from several early annals of this county and investigations. Its contents are distinctively regional. The historic materials about Mo Suo people of Mian Ning County in the Qing danasty are particularly important. They are valuable for the research of its history and study of the relations between Na Xi people and other peoples, and they are also meaningful for the research of the national migration and merge in the southern part of Tibet and Yi Belt southwest of Sichuan.
