Research Progress on Sustainable Development Assessment in Chinese Coastal Areas

作为改革开放的前沿阵地，我国沿海地区在工业化与城市化进程不断加速的同时，其持续发展也面临着生态环境、资源利用和产业结构等方面的突出问题，谋求区域发展的可持续性已成为该地区的必然选择。对近年来国内学者在沿海地区可持续发展评价方面取得的研究成果进行综述，并指出存在的问题以及今后应重点研究的方向．

As the foreland of reform and openness of China, Chinese coastal areas are facing prominent problems during the course of the realization of the sustainable development, including eco-environment, resource utilization and industrial fracture, etc. In this paper, the research progress on sustainable development assessment in Chinese coastal areas is reviewed, and the problems existed in current research are concluded. Finally, the important study orientations in the future are put forward.
