双向预测运动补偿及其在数字视频编码中的应用

摘要 双向预测法是根据目前活动图象压缩编码方案中所广泛采用的图象组(GOP)结构(即包含I、P、B3种类型图象的编码结构)而提出的一种新型的运动补偿方法.论文详细讨论了在数字视频压缩编码中运用双向预测法的各种运动补偿方式.通过对编码效率和实现复杂度的综合比较,给出了一套适于数字视频压缩编码的实用双向预测运动补偿方案.结果表明,双向预测法可显著提高图象编码效率,其运动补偿性能明显优于传统的单向预测法. A new bi-directional prediction motion compensation method is proposed according to the Group of Pictures(GOP) structure including I.P.B frame applied in motion picture compression coding scheme extensively. This paper discusses the performance of a variety of motion compensation modes caused by bi-directional prediction applied in digital video coding in detail. By comparing with the coding efficiency and implementation complexity comprehensively, the practical bidirectional prediction motion compensation scheme for digital video compression coding is proposed. Experimental results show that the bi-directional prediction method can much increase the efficiency of image coding. Its motion compensation performance has advantage over the traditional uni-directional method.
