从左宗棠收复、开发新疆看士大夫之信用

A Case Study of Zuo Zongtang's Instauration and Development of Xinjiang

收复、开发新疆是晚清名臣左宗棠对中华民族做出的最突出、最伟大的贡献,也是他一生最得意之笔。值得关注的是,这与他个人的品性修养特别是他笃守信用的美德分不开的。该文试图从这一事件入手来探讨传统士大夫的信用问题,继而揭示左宗棠这一人物的人格魅力所在。

The instauration and development of Xinjiang was Zuo Zongtang＇ s greatest and most important achievement in his life. Remarkably, this achievement is closely related to his personal character of emphasizing credit as a tradition of Chinese intellectual. Based on this historical event, this paper tries to analyse the issue of credit of Chinese traditional intellectual, and to reveal Zuo Zongtang＇ s personal charm as a great personality in late Qing Dynasty.
