In the process of English learning, four basic skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing, are of great importance. To focus on problems appearing in English listening, especially blind spots existing in the students of non -English major, the paper tries to probe some practical ways to improve college students＇ listening ability in English teaching, and provide some strategies for solving these problems.
