张掖大佛寺保存的西夏黑河桥碑与黑河流域的平天仙姑信仰有着密切的关系,其碑文是关于平天仙姑事迹的最早记载。平天仙姑信仰起于何时,现已无从考证清楚,自从明大司马侯东莱重修仙姑庙后,仙姑信仰便逐渐兴盛和发展,传遍了几乎整个黑河流域,成为黑河流域的一个重要文化现象。明代后期和清代前期河西战争不断、社会剧烈动荡的大背景是仙姑信仰逐渐兴盛和发展的重要条件,反过来,仙姑信仰的兴盛和发展也曲折地反映了明代后期和清代前期的社会现实。

There are close relations between the Heihe bridge stele of Xixia and the religion of Pingtian Xiangu in the Heihe valley and the inscription of the heihe bridge stele of Xixia is the first record about the deeds of Pingtian Xiangu. We do not know when the religion of Pingtian Xiangu was originated , but we know , after Hou Dong - lai rebuilt the Pingtian Xiangu temple , the religion of Pingtian Xiangu gradually became popular and prosperous, in the end , it spread almost through the whole Heihe valley , and became an important cultural phenomenon in tiffs region. In the late period of the Ming Dynasty and the earlier stage of the Qing Dynasty , the turbulence caused by the war was the main reason that made the religion of Pingtian Xiangu become popular and prosperous; conversely, the fact that the religion of Pingtian Xiangu became popular and prosperous was the mirror of the reality of turbulent society because of the war in the late Ming Dynasty and the earlier stage of the Qing Dynasty.
