On the Close Ties between the L2 Learners' Writing Ability and English Learning Based on the Analysis of the TEM 4 Pass Ratios

摘要 本文收集了笔者带班的6届英语专业学生参加全国高校英语专业四级笔试考试通过率的数据,从诸多角度分析了成绩的状况,通过从面到点的逐步对比与归纳,发现带班学生不仅通过率的数量增加,而且成绩达到优秀的比率也愈来愈高。从偶然的现象中探索到学生的写作能力稳步上升,对通过率起着支配作用,这说明英语写作能力的提高能促进英语学习。由此本文论述了提高英语写作能力的重要性,并力图探讨“以写促学”的英语学习“捷径”。 On the basis of the pass ratios of TEST FOR ENGLISH MAJORS GRADE FOUR (TEM 4) of the writer's students in different grade, this paper analyzes the achievement records to some extent. The analysis shows that the pass ratios increased not alone, but with that at the excellent level through the induction and antitheses. This casual phenomenon indicates that the steady growth of the writing ability promotes the pass ratios as well as the English study. The paper aims to strengthen the awareness of the importance of the development of the writing ability in English, particularly, that of a “shortcut” in English study based on it.
