L INTRODUCTION： NCCAM is currently supporting a number of research and trainlng/professional development grants that involve Chinese medical institutions and researchers. A short description of these grants is provided below. （Other Centers and Institutes of the National Institutes of Health may also be funding TCM-related research with Chinese institutions and researchers; except as noted, the grants listed below reflect only those currently funded by NCCAM）. Like other Centers and Institutes of the NIH, NCCAM utilizes a large variety of types of research and training grant mechanisms, each of which is intended to serve a specific purpose.
