摘要
采用全矢量有限元法分析了椭圆孔椭圆芯光子晶体光纤的结构对模式双折射的影响.结果表明:这种PCF的空气孔压缩系数、芯区压缩系数和空气填充率的增加均会使模式双折射增加.通过适当选取结构参数可以得到高双折射零走离的保偏光纤,其模式双折射可以比传统保偏光纤高出两个数量级.
The influences of the structures of elliptical core Photonic Crystal Fibers with elliptical pores on the modal birefringence are investigated by using the full-vectorial finite elements method. The results show that the increasing of the ellipticity of pores, the ellipticity of core and the cladding air-filling fraction will heighten the value of modal birefringence. It is possible to achieve the large birefringence polarization-maintaining fibers with zero walkoff by selecting the suitable structure parameters. The modal birefringence could be two orders of magnitude higher than that of conventional polarization-maintaining fibers.
