Modern Korean Writers' "Northeast China" Images in the Colonial Context

“北乡”是由解放前在东北的韩国人知识分子提出的乌托邦幻想,其基础是努力在东北寻求生路的生存意志。“北乡”意识产生于以日本的殖民统治为中心的中国、日本、韩国等三国之间错综复杂的力量关系之中,于是韩国人的生存意志在日本的殖民语境中变形为一种乌托邦异国形象。

＂Northern homeland＂ is a Utopia conceived by the Korean intellectuals who live in Northeast China before Japan＇s surrender in 1945,which is based on their will to seek a livelihood in this region. The ＂northern homeland＂ consciousness is bred in the complicated relations between China,Japan and Korea with Japan as the centre of the colonialist rule. Therefore,Korean people＇s will of survival transforms into an alien Utopian image.
