摘要
傣族地区存在狮图腾崇拜的说法是值得商榷的。从理论上说,傣族没有形成狮图腾崇拜的条件;从实际情况来看,傣族狮崇拜也不具备图腾崇拜的表现和特征,傣族历史上留下来的与狮子有关的雕刻、传说以及现代人们文身的狮子图案都不是图腾崇拜的遗迹。傣族对狮子的了解来自佛教,傣族的狮崇拜主要在佛教崇狮习俗的影响下形成,是一种灵物崇拜。
The argument that the lion totemism exists in Dai minority area is worth discussing. In theory, Dai didn't have the suitable condition to form the lion totemism. In fact, Dai does not possess expressions and characteristics of lion totemism either. Lion related carvings and legends in Dai history and lion tattooing pattern in modem people are not the vestige of the totemism. Dai's knowledge of lion came from Buddhism, and Dai's lion worship came into being as efficacious thing worship mainly under the influence of Buddhist custom of lion worship.
