摘要
设计了一种液晶(LC)型光圆偏振调制器(CPM),利用LC材料的电控双折射特性得到出射光的2种圆偏振态。对器件的工作原理进行了详细的说明,进而对器件的特性进行了测试和分析。该LC型光CPM具有小于10 V的低驱动电压、ms量级的响应速度和体积小的特点。测试结果表明,该光CPM输出光圆偏振度高达98.8%。
An optical circular polarization modulator (CPM) based on liquid crystal (LC) is presented. Using the electric birefringence of LC material,the device can output polarized light with two circular-polarization states. The detailed illuminations of the device-s structure and its testing investigation are also presented. This kind of CPM has the advantage of low drive voltage that is less than 10 V,fast response speed and small volume. The test results demonstrate the circular polarization degree of output light of this CPM is above 98.8 %.
