The situation of COREX gas is introduced in the paper.A comparison is made on the economic benefit of the three different design plans:utilizing COREX gas for gas turbine combined cycle power generation,the direct reduction iron (DRI) production or methyl alcohol production in a compact iron and steel making plant.Methyl alcohol production has good short term economic benefit,but will run great market risk.Power generation needs the lowest investment accompanied by the lowest economic benefit,and DRI production has broad market and medium benefit.
