在我国,古希腊文学接受与译介活动虽始于明代,但就其性质而论,真正在这一领域开辟新纪元者当属周作人先生。在长达60余年的著译生涯中,周氏曾介绍过几十位古希腊文学家,翻译了数百万言的古希腊文学作品,成就自然不菲,矻矻不舍的精神同样令人叹服。此外,通过长期的译介实践,周先生还提出了“主美”与“移情”的文学接受与翻译思想,立论称得上戛戛独造,当时影响之大可谓荦然,对后世译学研究亦可资借鉴。
