文学翻译中的元语言问题研究

On Metalinguistic Issues in Literary Translation

由于“对象语言—元语言”的对立,文学文本包含对象语言命题(叙述话语)和元语言命题(叙述话语之话语)。通过对几部小说片断中元语言语码的作用和叙事功能的分析,发现叙事小说中的元语言表达给文学翻译提出了严峻的挑战,并指出文学翻译应该从语篇层次出发,最大限度地再现元语言功能。

Due to the distinction of object-language and metalanguage, a narrative text consists of object-language as the first-order discourse and metalanguage as the second-order discourse. An analysis of data from some novels foregrounded complicated metalingual and metalinguistic devices that greatly challenge literary translation, with the conclusion that the literary translator should take different levels of linguistic-stylistic analysis into account and maximally represent metalingual and metalinguistic functions of narrative texts on the discursive level.
