试论唐西州高昌县的等级

A Tentative Research on the Ranking of the Gaochang County of Xizhou Prefecture in the Tang Dynasty

史籍中唯有《新唐书·地理志四》和《元和郡县图志》记载了唐西州各县的等级，但二书所载不同，前者记高昌县为下县，后者载为上县。本文分析出土文书，结合史籍有关记载，从乡里数及户口数、官吏人员的配置（县尉和县佐史的人数，是否有录事史和仓督）、官吏的散品与职事品的对应关系等方面对高昌县的等级进行了考察，并探讨上举二书的成书年代与有关内容，认为龙朔至永淳年间（661～683年）高昌县应是上县，《元和郡县图志》的记载可信，开元二十二年（734年）左右高昌县可能降为下县。

This paper, in connection with relevant historical documents, analyzes the unearthed documents and studies the ranking of the Gaochang County in terms of the numbers of district and township, number of registered household, officials' disposition, correspondence between prestige title and functioning official, etc. The author thinks that the Gaochang County was a superior county from the Longshuo period to the Yongchun period (661—683AD) and demoted to a junior county around the 22nd year of the Kaiyuan period (734AD).
