Mu Mutian,as the first translator of Balzac＇s long novels in the translation circle, overall disseminated and accepted Balzac＇ s thoughts. He translated 19 of Balzac＇ novels, which led the readers into this literary giant＇ s world; he analyzed all of these works, which not only offered a guidance for the readers to know Balzac, but also established a foundation for the critic circle to have a further research; his lectures on Balzac at universities widened the road of dissemination; his approval of Balzac＇s literary thoughts helped the literature develop in our country. Hence it can be asserted that Mu Mutian put up a bridge between Balzac ＆ the readers in our country.
