Internet Protocol IPv6 and IPv4/IPv6 Transition Technology

Along with the rapid development of Internet, the address space of IPv4 is to be depleted. IPv6, the next version of Internet protocol, is the nucleus protocol of new generation of Internet. According to the notable change between IPv4 and IPv6, this paper introduces the new characteristics of IPv6, such as the new head format of package, the bigger address space, the improvement of QoS, the better pledge of security, neighbor discovery and so on. Instead of a completely change process, the progress from IPv4 to IPv6 will be gradual, and the replacement, of IPv4 is inevitable.
