New Textual Research of the Years of Li Shangyin's Birth and Death

关于李商隐年龄的一些研究,其中较有影响的一说认为李商隐生于元和七年(公元812年),死于大中十二年(公元858年),认为李商隐只活到47岁。但根据史书记载和李商隐自己的诗文考证,李商隐应该是生于德宗贞元十五年(公元799年),卒于大中十二年(公元858年),终年60岁。

There are some researches about Li Shangyin＇s age, an influential one of which holds that Li shangyin was born in the seventh year of Yuanhe （A.D.812）, and died in the twelfth year of Dazhong （A.D.858） when he was only 47 years old. According to the recordation of history books and the poems of Li Shangyin, the writer believes that Li Shangyin was born in the fifteenth year of Zhenyuan （A.D.799） during the reign of Dezong, and died in the twelfth year of Dazhong （A.D.858） when he was 60 years old.
