Views on the Left-behind Children's Problems

由于父母的长期外出,留守在农村的“空巢”儿童一方面自我要求严格,具有较强的独立生活能力,对父母外出务工持理解态度。另一方面,他们又存在教育贫乏、亲情缺失、安全无保障、心理个性变异等问题。农村“空巢”儿童成长过程中出现的这些问题,从其实质上看,它是我国城乡之间、个人与社会之间不协调发展的一种重要表征。

During the long absence of the parents who leave their rural hometown to work in cities,the children left behind in the countryside ＂empty nests＂ are forced to learn to live in a quite independent and selfdisciplined way. However, they are prone to suffer from such problems as the lack of parental care and proper education, little sense of security, psychological and character abnormalities. In essence, these problems can be regarded as the important signs of the uncoordinated development between urban and rural areas and between the individual and the society.
