Humanistic Spirit and Education

人文精神是大学和教育的灵魂。它决定了教育的使命、目标和标准。如果以人文精神衡量教育,价值教育的目的主要体现在生命教育即尊重和实现生命的价值、智力教育即尊重和实现头脑的价值和灵魂教育即尊重和实现灵魂应该远离功利和实用,通过教育应该培养健康的、善良的生命,培养活泼的、智慧的头脑,培养丰富的高贵的灵魂,只有这样,我们的教育才是真正成功的。

Humanistic spirit is the soul of a university which determines the mission, aim and criteria of education of the school. While assessing education with the humanistic spirit, we should mainly consider ＂life education,＂ i.e. respect and realize the value of life ; ＂intelligence education,＂ i.e. respect and realize the value of the brain, and ＂soul education,＂ i.e. respect and realize the value of soul education to prevent oneself from being ruined by utilitarianism and pragmatism. Through education, our life should become healthy and benevolent, our brain active and intelligent and our soul rich and lofty. Only in this way can education be successful.
