两汉时期,择吉之风广泛流行。择吉,包括择吉人、择吉地、择吉时等多种情形,其中以择吉时最为常见。今天看来,时间本无所谓吉凶,因此,应该批判择吉术的神秘形式,但批判不等于无视其存在,把“择吉之风”作为历史存在加以分析,有助于了解当时时间生活、政治制度等社会面貌。

Selecting an auspicious day was very popular during the period of Western and Eastern Han Dynasty. Selecting an auspicious day included selecting an auspicious people, an auspicious place and an auspicious time, and picking an auspicious time was best common. It seems today that time does not originally mean well or bad luck, so we should criticize this mysterious form of picking a lucky day. But we can not ignore it. It is necessary for us to regard ＂ the practice of selecting an auspicious day＂ as existence of history to analyze it. This is helpful for us understanding social appearance in that period, such as life of time, political system and so on.
