The characteristics of impulse fine dry powder fire extinguishing technology were introduced. This technology and the traditional dry powder fire extinguishing equipment were compared. Its advantages over the other fire extinguishing technologies were pointed out. Based on the building fire protection design, the application of this technology to the building design with respect to its application locations, ranges as well as some related restrictions were emphasized. The points needed to be discussed for this technology to be applied to building fire protection design were put forward.
