长期以来有一种普遍的观点认为道家思想是中国古代园林造园的基本思想。实质上儒道两家思想在长时间历史发展过程中相互作用,互补共融,在中国古典造园思想中都有所体现,究其根本,儒家思想是中国古典造园思想的主体核心,它包括礼乐相成的道德伦理观,天人合一的自然宇宙观以及多元开放的处世观。

It includes the moral principles of Li and Yue complementing each other, the eosmologic view of heaven and man as one organic whole and the thought of conducting oneself in society of multi - thoughts inter - growth.
