摘要
本文从后殖民理论视角,讨论中国译者对波斯诗人欧玛尔.海亚姆的误读。由于对伊斯兰教文化背景缺乏足够的了解,自20世纪20年代以来的中国译者误读了欧玛尔。海亚姆和他的诗歌,并误导了中国的研究者和读者。因此当我们试图了解他者的文学时,应从对方的文化背景和传统出发,而不是从自己的观点或某种固有的思维模式出发。
From the perspective of post - colonialism theory, this paper discusses the Chinese scholars' misreading of Rubaiyat by Omar Khyyam, a famous Persian poet. The study shows that khyyam and his poems have been misread, and consequently Chinese readers and critics have been misled since the early 20th century due to the Chinese translations. One of the causations of the mistranslation lies in the translators' deficiency in the background knowledge of Islam culture. Thereby, when studying foreign literatures, we should concern ourselves a great deal with their cultural backgrounds rather than solely adhere to our own points of view and modes of thihking.
