Simultaneous Interpreting from the Perspective of Relevance Theory

关联论中有两个核心概念:推理中所付出的努力和达到最佳关联的语境效果。本文正是围绕着这两个概念,积极探寻关联理论对同声传译的启示和指导。笔者通过分析同声传译的目的和性质,逐渐引导翻译爱好者从关联论和同声传译的内在联系这一角度出发,进一步探索提高同声传译及其他现场口译质量的技巧和策略。

There are two core concepts in relevance theory： efforts in making inferences and contextual effects in achieving optimal relevance. The present paper centers on these two concepts with the aim to explore what implications relevance theory may have for the teaching of simultaneous interpreting. Through the analysis of the objectives of teaching simultaneous interpreting and of the nature of simultaneous interpreting by resorting to the internal relationship between relevance theory and simultaneous interpreting, the author attempts to figure out the techniques and strategies aimed to improve the quality of simultaneous interpreting and other on-site interpreting.
