Abstract: This paper presents a kind of cross grid explicit difference method used to calculate tidal movement in branching channel. Compared with explicit difference method, it has the advantage of natural boundary conditon for hydraulic computation, reasonable calculation results and unnecessary smoothing process. Compared with implicit difference method, it has the advantage of simplicity .in dealing with branches, high speed, convenience for computer calculation.
