This article discussed about spacer＇s type and role in CSTN. The surface treated and untreated spacers were observed under microscope to understand characteristic of liquid crystal alignment around spacers. In this article two mechanisms were introduced for white spot defect of CSTN, The mechanism was discussed for white block and white border phenomena of CSTN as well.
