Joseph Heller describes lots of female characters in his novels. He also draws that no matter which kind of social role the female plays, as a symbol for sex or desire or death, the females do not have sounds or thoughts of themselves, with no living space of their own, even names of their own. The author takes the position of the male and covers intentionally female sensibility and describes them as "the Second sex", "the Other". The writer further hints that the female acts as dirty, terrible , crazy dissident. The setting of female roles in Heller's novels has an obvious sexual discriminating inclination.
