On the Relation of between the Haciendas and Indian Villages in Colonial Mexico

墨西哥大庄园和印第安村社之间的关系并不是一成不变的,而是随着大庄园的形成和地位的稳固而发生变化:从最初的武力冲突到逐步走向调和,在这个发展过程,形成了一种不平等的依存关系;其中大庄园的生存和发展,是建立在牺牲印第安村社利益基础之上的,而且大庄园从这种关系中得到的好处远远大于印第安村社。

In colonial Mexico, the relation between the haciendas and Indian villages changed as the haciendas appeared and became to be steady, ranging from their original conflict to their final symbiotic relation of inequality. The haciendas developed at the expense of the Indian villages＇ benefit. This relation was more beneficial to the former than to the latter.
