摘要
圣保罗酋长广场是保罗的代表作之一，建筑师从广场的空间入手重新组织和划分了公共空间，包括公共交通在内的所有交通空间被重新组织，扩大了广场的公共空间。建筑师大胆创新的采用混凝土和钢材，并在超越了建筑材料所能应用的极限，从门廊延伸出一个巨大悬空的混凝土天篷，可为步行者遮荫，同时也成为广场环境和城市环境的交融和对话的窗口。
In the center of Sao Paulo ,mendes da Rocha undertook the renovation and restructuring of the public space.Vehiculat traffic was reorganized,and bus stops moved from a small neaby area to the 800-foot long overpass,Viaduct doCha.The square＇s orginal paving was restored,and the most striking element,a suspended roof canopy,was added.The canopy successfully forms a dialogus with the cityscape,
