The water landscape in the villages of Upper and Lower XiaoQi is a typical example of the Huizhou village clusters. With rivers run through the two villages, providing a basis for life, work, and traffic, this formation of villages is an embodiment of China＇s ancient notions of living near waters. Besides, slight alteration was also made to the distribution of waters, which highlights our ancestors＇ harmonious co-living with nature.
