摘要
中国狮子及狮子造型艺术是随着佛教的传播自汉代经由西域传入中国的。以石雕狮子镇守门户、弭邪赐福的民俗传统蕴涵着中国人的现实意愿，近两千年来经由中国人富有审美创造力的经营想象，构成了中国狮文化艺术的重要组成部分。
The lion, the animal, and the stone-carving lion, the plastic art, are introduced into China along with Buddhism via the ancient Western Regions during Han Dynasty. Hence the history of stone- carving lions guarding houses and dispelling evils has been for almost 2,000 years in China. The stone-carving lions are thought to be the embodiment of people＇s aesthetic creation expressing their practical expectations and imaginations and they play an important part in Chinese lion culture and .art.
