中华口腔医学会口腔颌面外科专业委员会20周年发展回顾

Review of the growth and development of Chinese Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery during the past two decades

历史值得铭记，未来需要开拓。1986年，在中华医学会口腔学会之下，正式建立了口腔颌面外科学组；并相继于1986、1990、1994年在上海、西安、武汉召开了第二、三、四次全国性口腔颌面外科学术交流会。自此，我国的口腔颌面外科专业队伍初步形成，并且不断壮大。经过几代人的不懈努力，中国的口腔颌面外科发展迅速，日臻成熟，涌现出了一大批卓有建树的专家学者，诞生了中国口腔医学界第一位工程院院士——邱蔚六教授．引起了国际同行的关注和赞誉。

Time flies like an arrow. It has been 20 years since the founding of the Chinese Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery （CSOMS） in 1986, great progresses have taken place both in the construction of organization and clinical and scientific researches during the-past two decades. Oral and maxillofacial surgery in China is characterized by a broader scope of practice compared with the same speciality in the western countries. Some of its clinical technologies are approaching or reaching the internationally advanced level, while much is needed to be done in the field of basic scientific researches. This special article reviews the history of CSOMS from the following three aspects： organization construction, academic activities and current status of clinical and research works in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Greater achievements are expected in the near future through the arduous efforts and unremitting pursuits of all oral and maxillofacial surgeons in China under the correct lead of CSOMS.
