毛泽东是20世纪中国伟大的无产阶级革命家、政治家和思想家,他把马克思主义基本原理与中国文化建设实践相结合,逐步形成了中国特色的先进文化建设思想,为推进中国先进文化建设的历史进程做出了巨大的理论贡献。毛泽东先进文化建设思想的主要内容是以马克思主义为指导思想的指导方针;关于“古为今用、洋为中用”的先进文化继承与借鉴的根本途径;关于“百花齐放,百家争鸣”先进文化繁荣与发展的基本方针;关于文化必须“为人民服务,为社会主义的国家服务”的根本方向。

Mao Zedong is a great proletarian revolutionist, politician and thinker in the 20th century in China. He combined the basic principles of Marxism with the construction of the Chinese culture, and gradually developed the idea about the constructing of advanced culture with Chinese characteristics. He had made enormous theoretical contributions to promoting the historical process of constructing the advanced Chinese culture. This paper summarizes and expounds the main ideas of Mao Zedong thought on constructing the advanced culture.They are the guidelines with Marxism as the key principles, the fundamental ways for inheriting and applying the advanced culture of＂ making the past serve the present and making foreign things serve China＂, the basic policy for the prosperity and development of the advanced culture——＂letting all flowers in bloom and all schools of thought in contention＂, and the fundamental developing direction of＂ serving people and serving socialist countries＂
