China＇s natural gas resources is abundant The results of a new round of appraisal for national natural gas resources achieved by relevant experts organized by Ministry of Land and Resources indicate that the prospective natural gas resources in China, excluding the southern marine areas of the South China Sea, would be 56 trillion cubic meters （tcm）, with the proved geological resources and recoverable resources of 35tcm and 22tcm respectively （see Table 1）. Concretely, of which more than 5tcm of the prospective gas resources distributes in the basins such as Tarim, Ordos, Sichuan, and East China Sea, and the amount of the prospective gas resources in Qaidam, Yinggehai, Bohai Bay, Junggar, Qiongdongnan and Songliao ranges within 1-5tcm.
