Zhang Kejiu takes Sanqu verse to describe landscapes and to express natural disposition and intelligence. His Sanqu verses, always blending himself and the audience into the beautiful sceneries, present a profound beauty of temperament and interests. His works, greatly affected by the landscape paintings of the Yuan Dynasty, are full of picturesque imagination and refinement, and filled with fantastic beauty and shimmering brightness under the influence of the Tao of celestial beings. They exquisitely show the beauty of various landscapes and sceneries, and especially the elegant things, elegant interests and elegant words described in his works, which closely related to the landscape themes, greatly embodied the feature of elegance refinement of the Sanqu verses.
