Mei Niang, a woman writer, is regarded as the most successful among all the writers of literature creation in the 1940s in Northeast China. She joined together the creams of both the Eastern fiction and Western fiction in her works and built up a wonderful and varied artistic texture. With her simple and vivid artistic style, she depicted the rich scenes of life and displayed a strong flavor of the local customs and life in Northeast China.
