在参照《大学英语课程教学要求》及分析大学英语学习特点的基础上,以美国社会学家Hymes提出的交际能力为理论基础,通过实例说明英语学习应以培养跨文化交际能力为最终目的。

With reference to The College English Curriculum Teaching Requirement issued by China＇ s Ministry of Education and on the basis of analysis of the features of college English study and communicative competence initiated by Hymes as theoretical foundation, this paper has proposed that the eventual target for English language learning is to cultivate cross-cultural communicative competence.
