Chen Tonghai, President of the Sinopec Group emphasized that science and technology innovation was the key to enhance the company’s competitiveness. The following are the four principles for Sinopec’s science and technology innovation of Sinopec: I. Taking the improvement of its core competitiveness as the basic goal and strengthening self-innovation capability; II Sticking to the principle of trying to do certain things and refraining from doing other things in order to concentrate on “certain things” and have their own core technology through innovation. III. Guiding the future development and facilitating the researches in both advanced and basic technology. IV. Being at the international level in 2020.
