Three Layer Protective Coating of Buried Pipeline and Its Inspection Method

In this paper, the constitutive parameters and characteristics of three layer external protective coating of buried steel pipeline are introduced. Two methods used for inspecting external coating state of buried steel pipeline are discussed. One is multi-frequency current inspecting technique, and another is combined DCVG/CIPS inspecting technique. The principle, operation method and equipment used for the external inspection are described associated with the practical engineering example. These methods and equipment can be used in respective or combined mode to inspect the position and size of holiday of the protective coating without excavation.
