严复玳瑁书镇四箴铭是伪作

Yan Fu’s Four-Word Inscription Carved on the Hawksbill Paperweight Is a Counterfeit

几年前发现的严复玳瑁书镇修正仁和四箴铭,被认为是严复的一篇佚文,并已收入《严复集补编》。经笔者考订,这一所谓的严复铭文实际上是一篇伪作,是作伪者依据故宫乾清宫等处康熙、乾隆皇帝的楹联改作而成的。

The Four-Word Inscription-Xiu Zheng Ren He-Carved on the Hawkshill Paperweight discovered recently is considered as a dissipated article of Yan Fu and has been incorporated in Supplement to Works of Yan Fu. According to the author＇s research, the socalled Yan＇s inscription is in fact a counterfeit, which was written by a counterfeiter on the basis of the antithetical couplets of Emperor Kang Xi and Emperor Qian Long in Gien Tsing Kung of the Imperial Palace.
