The Planing Concept of "Open Block" and Its Englightenment on the Urban Residential Construction in China

“开放街区”具有4个基本特点:建筑单体保持一定的独立性,体现场所精神,不会严格限制建筑的高度,强调异质性、混杂性和矛盾性。“开放街区”的规划理念在一定程度上影响了欧洲当今的城市建设,对中国现阶段的城市住宅建设也有着多方面的启示。

＂Open block＂ has four fundamental features：every single building has its independent character;it reflects the spirit of place;it places no strict limit on the height of buildings and it stresses the heterogeneity, hybrid and contradiction.To some extent the idea of ＂open block＂ has caused some influence on the urban construction in Europe nowadays and also has some enlightenment for China in urban residential construction at the present stage in many ways.
