摘要
网络通信开销是影响网络并行计算的重要原因,但精确定量分析网络通信开销中各个组成部分的报道不多。本文利用精度可达0.1微秒的计时工具,定量地分析了以太网中广泛使用的NetWare网络操作系统的网络层/传输层通信协议IPX/SPX与NetBIOS仿真会话层通信协议的性能,研究网络通信开销的主要因素,从而找出提高网络通信性能的途径。本文最后分析了如何通过对网络接口设计的改进来减少网络通信开销,提高网络并行计算环境的效能。
Network communication overhead collstitutes the primary factor influencing on the efficiency of networked parallel computing.Accurate quantitative measurement is of essential importance.However,few papers have been reported on this issue.This paper studies the network communication overhead by using measurement tool of 0.1 us accuracy,and through the analysis based on the accurate measurement,the approaches for improving the performance of networked parallel computing are suggested.The optimization of hardware and software in network interface for reducing the network communication overhead is described.
