摘要 Internet, today’s Global Information Infrastructure, is the hot spot of network de-velopments and applications. Internet address space becomes an increasingly limiting resource withmore and more hosts connected to Internet. Besides, the demands for multimedia transportation, flex-ible routing, security, reasonable accouting model, mobility and IP over ATM are presented,which aredealed with by IP Next Generation. i. e.,IP Version 6.0. This paper overviews the technique detailsof IP V6 and discusses the transition of CERNET from IP V4 to IP Internet, today's Global Information Infrastructure, is the hot spot of network de-velopments and applications.
